There was a long time that Trevithick had demonstrated that the adhesion of wheels on the pavement was well sufficient to assure the propulsion, but the craze to foresee legs of horse destined to palliate a possible skating persisted a long time again.

In years 1820, David Gordon proceeded to the elaborate vehicle tests provided of propulsion legs, but the mechanism was complicated some too much, the heaviness of the vehicle and damages caused to roads drove neglected of the project.
