The Cadillac 62 convertible was produced from 1948 to 1953. The datas with 4 different engines from 5,4 to 5,7 liters and powers from 150hp to 210hp, are below.
Elegantly beautiful Cadillacs, part of the first postwar redesign, and among the most graceful cars of the era. The fastback sedanet (also known as the club coupe) had the aura of the Classic boat-tail about it. The significant mechanical difference between the two model years is engines: the '48s had the last of the 346-cid flathead V8s, while the '49s had the first of the pioneering 331-cid overhead valve units. Some collectors prefer the earlier engine, saying it is smoother and quieter, though the ohv unit provides more power and returns better mileage. Both years are almost identical in styling, though the '49 looks a little heavier in front. The '48 possesses a fine one-year-only drum-style instrument cluster; the '49 dash is more conventional.
