Kia Motors Corporation of South Korea origins began as a steel tubing and bicycle parts manufacturer from 1944. Through the decades that followed, the company progressed into building motorcycles and trucks. It can be said that Kia's goal is to provide quality vehicles at prices below that of the competition coupled with a personable customer relations program.
Some notable Kia achievements are being the first Korean automotive manufacturer to build internal combustion engines and passenger cars. An impressive list of awards within the industry is associated with Kia, highly centered around quality control.
Kia entered the U.S. market in 1994 to sell vehicles at a network of dealerships. Their U.S. headquarters is in Irvine, California.
