   En 1933, Georges Paulin, styliste amateur, eut l'idée d'un toit métallique totalement escamotable dans le coffre arrière. Il fit breveter son invention et la baptisa "Eclipse". Peugeot intéressé par ce concept, l'étudia et lança la fabrication d'une petite série dans ses ateliers de carrosserie de La Garenne-Colombe, près de Paris en octobre 1934. Le même mois un exemplaire était exposé au Salon de Paris.

   In 1933 Georges Paulin had the idea of a colapsible roof-top, sliding completely in the boot. He patented his invention and called it "Eclipse". Interested in this innovation, Peugeot considered the design, and immediately set into motion the study and manufacture at the La Garenne-Colombes coachworks, near Paris, of a small production run which began in October 1934 and showed the car at the Paris Salon the same month.
