Les désignations concernant les modèles de carrosserie telle que "Victoria" sont pour la plupart issues des appellations de véhicules hippomobiles.
   La conception générale des voitures, tel que le fait d'avoir des roues petites à l'avant et grandes à l'arrière, a la même origine.
   Une "Victoria" était une voiture hippomobile découverte à quatre roues, en référence à la reine Victoria qui affectionnait beaucoup ce type de véhicule.

   "Victoria", Karl Benz reputedly exclaimed in 1893 when he succeeded in developing a king-pin steering system which allowed the front wheels of a cornering vehicle to turn at different angles. That was how the new model incorporating this system got its name.
