Un nouveau pas en avant fut fait en 1975 avec l'introduction d'un 12 cylindres horizontaux opposés de 3000 cc en aluminium et magnésium développant 500 ch à 11000 t/m.
   Ce châssis était tubé en acier avec des panneaux raidissants, ce véhicule fut appelé 33 TT 12.
   Cette voiture amena le triomphe à Alfa Roméo en gagnant le championnat du monde, gagnant 7 courses sur les 8.
   Ce succès fut répété en 1977 avec la nouvelle 33 SC 12.
   Le triomphe des Alfas fut absolu, avec la rapide suprématie des 33 munis de 12 cylindres qui développèrent jusqu'à 520 ch, gagnant les 8 courses du championnat du monde.
