   Depuis 1967,alfa compte proposer un dérivé exceptionnel de sa nouvelle giulia sprint apparue un an plus tot.Si le modele de grande série a été dessiné par BERTONE,c'est à ZAGATO que la firme milanaise fait appel pour developper le projet.
   Sur la base de la gt 1300 junior,le carrossier débute son travail en 1968 et c'est au salon de turin de l'année suivante que la junior z est présentée comme un show car produit en serie.
   Fidèle à la réputation de ZAGATO,la junior z propose un design particulierement agressif et abrupte reflètant fidèlement la rage de la mecanique.
   Accessoirement,l'aérodynamique engendrée fait gagner 5 km/h à la 1300 junior! Produite durant 3 ans,la z connaitra un petit succès puisque 1108 exemplaires seront construits.
