Alfa Roméo tenait énormément à son image sportive, c'est pourquoi deux coupés destinés à la compétition furent dessinés et développés avec la collaboration de Zagato.
   La TZ avec un 1600 cc développant 112 ch avait un châssis à treillis tubulaire et une ligne très fluide avec un arrière vertical était un véritable engin de sport capable d'atteindre 215 km/h.
   Cette voiture gagna une multitudes de courses dans sa catégorie, notamment les 12 heures de sebring, la Targa Florio et les 1000 km de Nürburgring.

   Alfa Romeo was very concerned about its sporty image, and that is the reason why two coupes designed for motor racing were sketched and developed with Zagato’s collaboration.
   The TZ with a 1600cc engine producing 112 hp had a chassis with a tubular mesh and a very fluid styling with a vertical back. It was a real sports heavy vehicle which was could reach 134 mph.
   The car won a vast number of races in its class, in particular the Sebring 12 Hours, the Targa Florio and the Nürburgring 1,000 km race.
