   La compagnie de Portello, sous la direction d'Orazio Satta, développa le projet Giulietta, une combinaison des technologies les plus avancées d'Alfa Roméo dans un petit 1300 cm3.
   Ce fut un tournant dans l’histoire d’Alfa Romeo.
   La Giulietta est la première Alfa Romeo à avoir son propre nom à la place d'un numéro ou d'une combinaison de lettres.
