Le très talentueux dessinateur Vittorio Jano arriva chez Alfa Roméo en 1923. Et la légendaire P2 était sa première création. Considérée comme une des plus grande concurrente des Grand Prix des années 20, elle mena Alfa Romeo à sa première victoire au championnat du monde.
   Elle fut suivie par beaucoup d'autres victoires. Destinée à triompher sur tous les circuits, l’Alfa Romeo P2 aida à fonder la légende d’Alfa Roméo.
   Le grand succès débuta avec la série 6 cylindres 1500, initialement avec un simple arbre à cames et plus tard avec un double arbre à cames en tête.
   Durant ces années le classique moteur d'Alfa Roméo fut amélioré.
   La technique à grand succès combinant double arbre à cames en tête, soupapes à angles et une chambre de combustion hémisphérique resta inchangée pendant des décennies.
   La grande expression du style et de la technologie de cette période était le 6 cylindres 1750, une des plus fameuses Alfa Romeo et probablement la plus adorée.
   Au début des années trente, Jano créa la 8C 2300, une autre légende de course qui triompha aux 24 heures du Mans entre 1931 et 1934.
   La 6C 1900 fut développée à partir du moteur 6 cylindres 1750 en 1933.

   The very talented designer Vittorio Jano started to work with Alfa Romeo in 1923. The legendary P2 was his first creation. Considered as one of the best competitors in Grand Prix races in the 1920s, the car brought Alfa Romeo its first victory in the world championship.
   This victory was followed by many others. Designed to win on all racing circuits, the Alfa Romeo P2 contributed to the creation of the Alfa Romeo legend.
   The great success started with the 6-cylinder 1500 series, which was initially equipped with a mere camshaft and later on with a double camshaft at the front. The classic engine of the Alfa Romeo was enhanced in these years.
   The very successful technique of combining a double camshaft at the front, angle valves and a hemispherical combustion chamber remained unchanged for decades.

   In the early 1930s, Jano created the 8C 2300, another car racing legend which ranked 1st in Le Mans 24 Hour races from 1931 to 1934.
